As the air turns crisp and the weather grows cooler, there is truly nothing better than wrapping up in a warm blanket and cozying up with a favorite author. Autumn naturally invites us to slow down, settle in, and get lost in a great story. Whether you love the feel of a physical book in your hands or prefer the convenience of reading on a screen, your library has everything you need to make the most of this season. |
|
|
For those who enjoy reading on the go or late at night without turning on a lamp, we offer fantastic digital options through our free Libby and cloudLibrary apps. With just your library card, you can easily log in to access thousands of popular fiction, non-fiction, Spanish-language titles, and engaging books for children and teens. If you prefer listening while walking, exercising, knitting, or commuting, both apps also feature an extensive collection of bestseller and backlist e-audiobooks.
There has never been a better time to explore everything our digital collection has to offer. Download the Libby and cloudLibrary apps to your device today, log in with your library card, and start building your ultimate Fall reading list! |

In addition to cozy seasonal reads, Fall brings another wonderful tradition to McAllen Public Library: our annual Food for Fines program. Running from Sunday, November 1 through Sunday, December 6, this program gives us a double opportunity to celebrate—bringing patrons back into the library while lifting up families in need across our community.
Through Food for Fines, each donated item clears $3 off your outstanding fines. We accept donations at all three MPL locations. To ensure safety and utility, donated items must be sealed, non-perishable, unexpired, non-glass, and preferably multi-serving options. Stop by any of our branches this season to clear your record, support a worthy cause, and discover your next great autumn read! |
