Two University Students Talking in the Library

Going On Now at MPL!

Girl with a Pink Shirt Reading a Blue Book in the Fort

In communities across our state, the freedom to access information is facing an unprecedented challenge. Texans for the Right to Read is a grassroots coalition of concerned residents, organized by the Texas Library Association, standing firmly against the rising movement to ban books based on subjectively deemed content. Our mission is clear: to educate the public and vigorously oppose any legislation, regulations, or executive orders that threaten our First Amendment rights and the intellectual freedom that libraries provide to every Texan. We believe that the power to choose what to read should remain in the hands of individuals and families, not dictated by censorship.

I invite you to take a stand with us by enrolling in the coalition today. Membership is entirely free, and joining is a powerful way to show your support for our local librarians and the diverse stories they protect. By signing up, you’ll stay informed on critical legislative updates and gain the tools needed to advocate for the right to read in your own community. This is more than just a list; it is a unified voice for the values of curiosity, education, and liberty. Join us today and help ensure that Texas libraries remain a sanctuary for all ideas. Enrollment takes only a minute:  https://texansfortherighttoread.com/

As always, thank you for your support.

New Romance Collection!

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with our New Romance Collection, where every story is an invitation to fall head over heels. From tender and heartwarming to bold and breathtaking, this collection brings together a wide range of romance genres to suit every reader’s heart…contemporary love stories, historical romances, romantic fantasy and suspense, rom-coms, and more. Whether you’re craving a slow-burn connection, a dramatic twist of fate, or a happily-ever-after that lingers long after the final page, you’re sure to find your perfect match. This Valentine’s season, discover a love story unfolding in the pages of a book.

Who is your favorite author?  And why?

Grady Hendrix, because he blends humor, horror, and heart in a way that’s really fun and accessible. His books never feel predictable.

What book series would you like to live in?

Harry Potter — a world with magic, libraries, and lifelong friendships sounds pretty perfect.

What do you enjoy most about working at a library?

I enjoy helping people find books and showing them how to use the library’s resources. It’s rewarding to help patrons navigate everything the library has to offer.
