Going On Now at MPL!

Girl with a Pink Shirt Reading a Blue Book in the Fort

As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for the author and storyteller sessions of the South Texas Book Festival. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and love of stories are what make these events so special. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our South Texas Book Festival sponsors, whose generous support made this celebration of roots and stories possible. Their commitment truly brings literacy to life in our community.

We at MPL are deeply grateful for our patrons, those who fill our spaces with creativity and conversation, who attend classes and workshops, who craft, learn, and share ideas, and who bring their children to storytime to nurture the next generation of lifelong readers. Children who are read to and encouraged to read often keep the habit throughout their lives, building stronger language skills, curiosity, and imagination that serve them well in every stage of learning.

Your support and participation remind us every day why libraries matter—because of the people who bring them to life. Thank you for being part of our library family and for inspiring us with your commitment to learning, community, and the joy of reading.

Wishing one and all a joyful Thanksgiving, filled with gratitude, good company, and cherished moments.

Thank you Teen Advisory Committee!

Our Teen Advisory Committee collected more than 250 items during their Pet Donation Drive to support the Palm Valley Animal Society. From toys and treats to cozy blankets, their kindness will help many animals as they wait for their forever homes. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported our teens in giving back to the community.
