FORGE AHEAD WITH AN APPOINTMENT IN THE FORGE

"When is the makerspace going to open?" has got to be the number one question we've been asked over the past year or so.

The fact of the matter is that The Forge has been open! Not in the traditional sense where you can just walk in any time that the library is open. That is the ultimate goal, and we're working hard to get there. But, with only one full-time staff member, the time available for patrons to use The Forge has to be managed differently than how the rest of the library is managed.

In addition to the variety of programs and classes being offered, individuals are invited to schedule one-on-one appointment times to work on projects, learn how to use the  available equipment or to simply to meet with our makerspace manager Mary Frances Reutzel to learn about all of the possibilities the space and equipment offer.

To find out more about The Forge, schedule an appointment, or sign up for a class, visit The Forge @ Cranberry Library website. We can't wait to see what you're going to make!

A QUICK PROGRAM NOTE:
As of March 1 we are excited to welcome children, tweens, and teens
back to the library for in-person programs and storytimes.

Just as we mandate masks for adults attending library sponsored programs, we are mandating masks for all individuals aged 2+ who want to attend in-person programs and storytimes for youth.

SUPPORT CRANBERRY PUBLIC LIBRARY

2021-22 Annual Giving Campaign

Ask any one of the library staff why they work in the library and they're likely to tell you it's because they like helping people. It's why we're here! That and for the stories, of course. Here's just one story of how we've made a difference in our community:

Diane was at her wits' end. She had been searching for books about hearing-impaired children for her three hearing-impaired children, and she couldn’t find any anywhere. That’s where we came in. Our children’s librarian found a series with a hearing-impaired character, making Diane’s day and giving her sons the representation they deserve.

Diane told us: "When I think of how many kids and parents could read these books and understand a little bit more because our librarian took the time to care, it makes me emotional."

Support from our donors make stories like these possible. If you haven't already donated to our annual campaign, consider making a donation today!
