Discover the pivotal roles played by Burlington County, NJ, and the twin cities of Burlington and Bristol in this courageous journey towards freedom. About the Speaker: Mr. Corbett is not only an expert in his field but also deeply connected to the history he presents. As the son of Civil Rights leader Fannie Corbett and a descendant of US Colored Troops Civil War veteran Jack Sherrod, his personal genealogical ties bring a unique and powerful perspective to his presentations. Mr. Corbett has held prestigious positions such as Vice President of the board for the Underground Railroad Museum of Burlington County, NJ, and a visiting scholar at Rutgers University. Writing Workshop: Unleashing the Monster Within Youth in grades 4-10 are invited to join us for an exciting writing workshop this summer. Using curriculum from Cosmic Writers, participants will embark on a creative journey to craft original adventure stories featuring monsters, aliens, and villains. Students can even submit their stories to our Graphic Novel Contest! Registration is not required! Session 1: "Making a Monster, Adopting an Alien" - Dates: June 26 - July 24
- Description: There are monsters lurking inside us all, waiting for their stories to be told. In this workshop, participants will use writing and illustration to create their own unique monster characters and explore their backgrounds and motivations.
