Dear Library Community,
 
On behalf of the entire Library staff, I wish you a happy Spring! We hope that you are enjoying the warmer weather as much as we are.
 
As always, we thank you for your support! We are so incredibly grateful for your patience and understanding as the Library undergoes extensive interior and exterior renovations. The completion of these construction projects will bring new study rooms, a place to grab a quick snack, an updated exhibition area, new carpets, fresh paint and completely renovated patio, garden, and green spaces for gathering outdoors at our scenic Delaware River location. Here are a couple of the latest photos detailing our progress:

Grundy Walking Club
Tuesday, April 13 & 27 at 1:00 PM
 
Join us for a one mile walk through historic Bristol Borough on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Participants can enter for a chance to win a Dick's Sporting Goods gift card. Open to ages 18-plus.
 
Due to ongoing construction on the immediate Grundy Library property, the walk will begin and end from the Library's parking lot located at the corner of Dorrance and Radcliffe Streets; access to the lot is made via Dorrance Street. Remember to wear your sunscreen, face mask and comfortable shoes. For more information and to register for individual walks, visit the Grundy Library events page.

Trivia Night: Events in History

Join your hosts Laura and Barbara for an evening of history on the Kahoot! gaming platform. Know when Napoleon's first campaign happened? Or what came first - the sundial or Stone Hedge? This is a look at some historical events from around the globe. This event is appropriate for families. Register online and a ZOOM meeting link will be sent to you one hour before the event. Once you're logged in to ZOOM, a Kahoot! game code will be shared with you. Play the game on your smart phone, Chromebook, or tablet.  Are you new to Kahoot!? Financial Conversations Over Coffee

Wondering what the state of the markets is? Questions about how current events interact with markets? Grab some coffee (or tea) and come join us virtually in this relaxed, information session to get updates current events, the economy, and investing. This coffee club will be hosted via Zoom and will have Edward Jones staff available to give updates and answer questions. Presented by David Samachson of Edward Jones and in conjunction with Warminster Free Library. Register to receive the link to enter the session.
 

Healthy Relationships 101

Voices for Change

Voices for Change: What You Can Do to Support & Create Social Change in Your Community is an interactive workshop that provides participants with the knowledge and skills to:
  • understand the dynamics of power and control and the cycle of abuse in relationships
  • empower survivors and connect them with resources in a safe, nonjudgmental way
  • educate others about domestic violence awareness
  • build the community's capacity to support survivors and prevent future abuse

Code Club is now online! Join us on the 1st and 3rd Mondays for a new activity or challenge.  Ms. Amber and Ms. Laura will be introducing new coding challenges and we would love for you to watch and participate with us.  These challenges will be posted online via our social media channels.  If you aren't on social media you can still watch them each Monday on our Grundy Library YouTube channel. Open to grades 3-12.

Virtual 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Virtual Live Story Time & Craft: Rain Clouds
Friday, April 30 at 10:00 AM
 
Join us for a live virtual story time followed by a craft! We'll be reading books, singing songs and moving around! Then we'll work on one of this month's Take & Make kits together: "M" is for Moose. Supplies for this kit as well as instructions on how to complete it will be available to pick up at the library via curbside pickup starting March 1. Register online.
 
 
 
Bloxels Club: Sci-fi / Fantasy Edition
Wednesday, April 7, 14, 21 & 28 at 4:00 PM
 
During this virtual program, participants will be using the Bloxels website to create a
Sci-fi / Fantasy themed video game. This program is for youth in grades 5-12. Participants will need access to the Bloxels app or website. Event is limited to 20 students and registration is required. The event URL is sent via registration email.
 
Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Meeting
Thursday, April 8 at 3:00 PM
 
Need Volunteer Hours? Looking for a way to improve your community? Join the Teen Advisory Board (TAB). We need volunteers in grades 6-12 to help us with programming, book selection, and so much more.  Can't come every month? - that's okay! Volunteers help select collection materials, plan teen programs for the library, and sometime become a cast of characters for those programs. TAB currently meets virtually on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 3:00-4:00 pm. For more information, click here.
 

 
Non-Profit Resource Center (NRC): Introduction to Proposal Writing

Are you new to proposal writing or want a quick refresher? If so, you don't want to miss one of our most popular classes!
This class will provide you with an overview of how to write a standard project proposal to a foundation. It will include:
  • The basic elements of a proposal
  • The "do's" and "don'ts" of writing and submitting a proposal
  • How to follow up whether the answer is yes or no

Mobile Printing @ Grundy Library
 
With our mobile printing service, you can use your personal computer or mobile device to print to the library’s printers from anywhere. Details about this service can be found on the Grundy Library web page. For questions, please call 215.788.7891. Curbside pickup is available.  
 
Federal Tax Forms
 The library offers the federal 1040 and 1040-SR federal tax forms and instructions. Call 215.788.7891 to arrange curbside pickup of these documents during library hours. More tax resources can be found online at the Grundy Library web page. For Pennsylvania tax forms and rent rebate forms, please contact your local state representative.
Grundy Museum
                                                                     
The Grundy Museum Reopens in April
 
With Spring 2021 in the air and sunshine and brighter days ahead, Grundy Museum reopens its doors for tours beginning Saturday, April 3.
 
A completely-renovated interior, conserved collections throughout, and new stories about the Grundy family and their staff in the late Victorian Era (1885) await our old friends and new visitors. Tour reservations through TicketLeap are required.
 
Masks, limited number of visitors, and social distancing mandates remain in place.
 
Free house tours are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 1:30pm and last one hour. Registration is required.
 
New this year are thematic tours developed by Curator, Geoffrey Webster. They are offered the first Saturday of the month beginning at 11am and last two hours. A $50 per person contribution is required, which benefits the Grundy Foundation CanDoMore Campaign to conserve Grundy family textiles. Mr. Webster’s live tours are: Now that's Entertainment: The Elegant Art of the Victorian Party; Manner & Mores: A Social History of the Late 19th Century; and  Interior Styles of the Gilded Age: The Domestic Interior in Post -Civil War America. Thematic tour registration.
 
Like a breath of fresh spring air, we look forward to rejuvenating our tour experiences for your enlightenment and enjoyment.
