Labor Day Closure on Sept. 2 All San Leandro Public Library branches will be closed on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. Regular library hours will resume on Tuesday, September 3. Library book drops will be available for returns.

Family Fun Night: Ka-hon Musical Ensemble Wednesday, Sept. 25, 6:30pm Join Ka-Hon on an adventure in Latin percussion as they share rhythms and songs from Peru, Mexico, Spain, Cuba and Venezuela that can be played with a simple wooden box (cajón). All ages welcome.

This program is suitable for ALL AGES and will include instruction about our new interactive project featured on the Casa Grounds.

Art Meets History: Inspired by the Casa Peralta Tiles Wednesdays in September between 1:00-4:00pm Drop in to experience the San Leandro History Museum and explore the Historic Casa Peralta Tiles in the Casa Grounds, learn about their significance in the historical context. Engage in a hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own tile designs inspired by this historic masterpiece on a terracotta tile. This program is for ages 10+.

VOLUNTEER AS AN ADULT LITERACY TUTOR Project Literacy, the library's adult literacy and ESL program, is training new volunteer tutors in September. Volunteer tutors help adult students improve their basic reading, writing, and English language skills so they can meet their goals and live more fulfilling lives.
