Adjusted Library Hours for August 24 
 
Please note: All San Leandro Public Library branches will have adjusted hours on Tuesday, August 24, 2023, to conduct an all-staff meeting. 
  • Main Library open from 12:00-5:00 pm 
  • Manor Branch open from 12:00-5:00 pm 
  • Mulford Branch open from 1:00-5:00 pm

Summer Library Program 2023 
Thanks for Joining the 2023 Summer Library Program! 
 
Kids and Teens who earned 80 points by August 1 in the Summer Library Program received an invitation to a special finisher event – we hope to see you there! 
  •  Summer Carnival for Kids on August 5 
  •  Mystery Party for Teens on Friday August 11 
Adults who earned 80 points by August 1 in the Summer Library Program had an option to attend the Adult Finale on Saturday, August 18. Your invitation includes event locations and times. Questions? Please contact us at 510-577-3971.

No Storytime from August 1-August 28 
 
There will be no storytime from Aug 1- 28. Storytime will resume the week of August 29. Check the website calendar for dates and times. 
 
Family Fun Night: Animal Show!
Wednesday, August 30, 6:30pm
 
Conservation Ambassadors’ Wild Things offers an educational and exciting presentation that includes animal facts, anecdotes and live animals! All ages welcome. Doors open at 6:20pm, and the show begins at 6:30pm. Doors will close if we reach posted room capacity. 
 

Now Accepting Teen Volunteers for the School Year! 
 
School year teen volunteer applications will be open August 10! Positions are open to teens in grades 9-12, with orientations on Sept. 5 and 9th. Gain work experience and give back to the community! Learn more at www.sanleandro.org/teenvolunteer

Drop-In Tech Help at the Main Library 
Friday, August 11, 18 & 25 between 2:00pm - 4:00pm
 
Tech Drop-in Lab is for anyone who needs help or has tech-related questions on their phone, tablet, or laptop. Our trained volunteer provides tech assistance for a maximum of 20 minutes on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be ready with your question and your device.

VHS Digitization 101 
Monday, August 7, 6:00pm 
 
When was the last time you watched what is on your home VHS tapes? Swing by the Main Library to learn about VHS Digitization 101. This will be an interactive & informative program taught by the Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) professionals in collaboration with the DIY Memory Lab at the San Leandro Public Library. Learn to Digitize Your Photos, Tapes and Cassettes at the DIY Memory Lab Orientation 
Wednesday, Aug. 23, 6:30pm 
 
Attending this orientation will allow you to book an appointment to use the DIY Memory Lab at the San Leandro Main Library to digitize your photos, slides, negatives, VHS tapes and audio cassettes. You can also complete the orientation online.

BikeMobile Bike Repair Clinic  
Saturday Aug. 26, 1:00 PM –4:00 PM  
Manor Branch Library, 1241 Manor Blvd
 
Come to get your bike repaired while learning about bike maintenance, safety and more.  Repair is on a first come, first served basis. Sign-ups begin at 1:00 and is limited to 20 people.   
San Leandro History Museum
Visit the Museum!

The History Museum tells the story of San Leandro, beginning with the first people, the Muwekma Ohlone, and follows the changes through Spanish/Mexican California, the Gold Rush, the beginnings of a new American town and the developments of the 20th Century through World War II. Our newest exhibit looks at the history of redlining and housing discrimination in San Leandro.
