Celebration of Dance with Ah-Lan Dance Studios at the Manor Branch Library Join us in celebrating Asian Pacific Islander Month with dances from Ah-Lan Dance Studios. Come see students perform Chinese and Hawaiian dances. For all ages. No registration needed.

College and Career Pathways 101 Sunday May 19, 1-2:30pm Monday May 20, 6-7:30pm
Join us for a presentation and Q&A session with high school counselor Vanessa Galaviz. Vanessa will cover the wide variety of post-high school pathways. Open to teens in grades 6-12 and their families. Snacks will be provided! This workshop will be offered on two days, but the material is the same. Please only register for one session.

Friends of the Library CD Sale! Find like-new CD's of all genres and styles, from Jazz to Pop to Rock and more. All discs are $1. Buy 3 discs, get 1 free! The sale will be in the Trustees room. Proceeds from the funds raised from the CD sale will be used to support the San Leandro Public Library materials fund, library programming, the Summer Reading Program, and cultural and educational events. Consider joining the Friends of the Library!

Saturday Sounds: Strings and Verses Saturday, May 4 at 3:00 pm - 4:45 pm Celebrate Arab American Culture at San Leandro Main Library (300 Estudillo Ave) on S. Sensory-Friendly Teen Lounge Monday, May 6, 3:30pm-5pm Teen Lounge will be open specifically for teens with sensory needs on May 6th, 3:30-5pm! We 'll have board games, a craft activity, snacks, and a Nintendo Switch, along with our sensory toys and noise-canceling headphones. Open to teens in grades 6-12; parents and caregivers are welcome to stay with their teens. Register in advance.

Film Screening: The Deli Man Sunday, May 12 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm (2015- 1 hr 31 mins, PG-13) This funny and mouthwatering documentary about the history of Jewish delicatessens includes a profile of a third-generation deli owner named Ziggy Gruber. In honor of Jewish American History Month, stay after the film for treats and a chat with Chabad of San Leandro.

City of San Leandro Newsletter January 1985 In 1985, our library took a bold leap into the digital age by introducing our first public computer. A lot has changed since then! We may not be selling diskettes anymore, but we’re happy to offer public PCs throughout the library, free to use with your library card. We’ve gone from floppy discs to free printing, Photoshop, hotspots and more. We’ve come a long way and it all started with 128K of memory! The San Leandro History Room is located on the 2nd Floor of the Main Library Hours are based on volunteer availability. Please call our info desk to verify hours as they may change. - Mondays 5:00-7:00
