THE APOLOGY film screening and filmmaker Q&A Tuesday, October 17 Bal Theater, 14808 E. 14th Street, San Leandro The San Leandro Historical Society, San Leandro Public Library and History Museum present a free screening of the Russell City documentary THE APOLOGY featuring a Q&A with the filmmakers. This feature-length documentary reported, filmed and directed by Mimi Chakarova, investigates a time in the 1960s when Alameda County and the City of Hayward dismantled the entire community of Russell City, pushing 1,400 residents out of their homes and off their land - all to claim the 200 acres for an industrial park.
