Library Operations Update
Adjusted Library Hours
Tuesday, May 9, 2023
 
Please note that all San Leandro Public Library branches will have adjusted open hours on Tuesday, May 9 so that Library staff can attend an all-staff meeting. 
  • Main Library open from 12:00-5:00 pm 
  • Manor Branch open from 12:00-5:00 pm 
  • Mulford Branch open from 1:00-5:00 pm 
 
Mulford Branch Now Open 
 
Mulford Branch Library is now open! The hours are as follows: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 1:00pm - 5:00pm.  
 
We look forward to serving you again at this location!
Memorial Day Closure
Monday, May 29, 2023
 
All San Leandro Public Library branches will be closed on Monday, May 29 in honor of Memorial Day. Library book drops will remain accessible while closed and regular library hours will resume on Tuesday, May 30. 
Celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month 
At the Main Library, 300 Estudillo Ave
 Family Fun Night: Polynesian Dance 
Wednesday, May 17, 6:30pm

Dancers from Tehani Studios will present Polynesian Dance for all ages. Doors open at 6:20pm and the show begins at 6:30pm. 
World Travel Club: Japan* 
Thursday, May 25, 4:00-5:00pm 
Main Library, 300 Estudillo Ave. 
 
Kids in grades 1 to 5 can explore different countries around the world through maps, videos, hands-on activities and local snacks. May's country is Japan.

Join us for a Family Event as we celebrate AAPI Heritage Month with Ballet Afsaneh.  This dance performance is for all ages. 
Bollywood Dance Instruction

Join us for a Bollywood Dance instruction class led by Satish Panchal.  Satish has taught Bollywood dancing in the Bay Area for many years. Come join the fun and get some exercise too.  This program is for adults only.   
Summer Library Program 2023 
Coming Soon: "Find Your Voice” Summer Library Program  
June 3 - August 1, 2023 for All Ages 
 
In the FREE Summer Library Program, earn points when you read or complete fun activities. Kids and teens will use their points to "buy" prizes from the prize board, while adults will earn tickets for weekly drawings!  Everyone who earns 80 points by August 1 will receive an invitation to a special finisher event for their age group: the Summer Reading Carnival on Saturday, August 5 for kids ages 0-11; Teen Mystery Party on Friday, August 11 for ages 12-18; or the Adult Finale on Aug. 18 for ages 18+.   
 

Teens: Volunteer at the Library this Summer! 
 
Teens going into grades 9-12 are invited to apply to be a teen volunteer this summer. You’ll earn community service credit and gain job experience by helping the Library facilitate our annual Summer Library Program, supporting kid’s craft and play programs, shelving books and more.

Did you serve in the military? Medical providers will be on-site to provide examinations, consultations and referrals. We can provide assistance and answer questions about eligibility and enrollment. If you are NOT currently in the VA System, bring an extra copy of your DD214.

Meet the author of our community read book, Mia P. Manansala! Mia (she/her) is a writer and certified book coach from Chicago who loves books, baking, and bad-ass women. She will speak about her book series and her writing process and take questions from the audience. Mia will also be available to sign books. 
 
In-person events are subject to change based on current public health guidelines. 
We strongly recommend all visitors wear masks.
