Zoom Reduces 1-on-1 Meeting Time, How to Work-Around ThatZoom recently reduced the meeting time for 1-on-1 meetings to 40 minutes. This article from Nerdschalk.com has tips to help you bypass the 40-minute time limit. Alternatively, you can switch to another online meeting platform that don't have meeting limits, like Google Meet, Skype, FaceTime, etc... Unfortunately, the library does not have the budget to provide tutors with paid Zoom accounts. Thank you all for being flexible with this inconvenience.

July 2022 Tutor Roundtable Planning We're planning the next Tutor Roundtable meeting for July and I need your help setting a date! The meeting will be held in-person at the San Leandro Public Library with the option to Zoom in if you can't make it in-person. If you'd like to attend, please click here to vote for your preferred date for the July 2022 Tutor Roundtable Meeting. Voting ends on Friday July 8th at 5pm and I will announce the date & time of the meeting on Monday July 11th. The purpose of the Tutor Roundtable meeting is to provide a space where tutors can learn from other tutors and develop new tutoring strategies/activities to incorporate in their tutoring sessions with their learners. These meetings are optional and provide an opportunity for tutors to meet other tutors and share their experiences and activities. Please reach out to Alex if you have any questions.

Book Suggestions for Purchase Do you know of a good book that Project Literacy learners and/or tutors would love?
Conversation Club On Hiatus At the moment, we are no longer holding Conversation Clubs. Learner attendance for our most recent Conversation Clubs has been too low to keep the program going. We hope that once we get more learners participating in Project Literacy, then we will be able to bring back the Conversation Clubs by September 2022.
