PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES The Children's Department is open for browsing. There are no toys or games. Two internet/typing computers are available for kids to use.

April Fool's Contest All throughout April! Kids, tell a joke to a Children's Librarian, or write it down, or email it to childrens@sctylib.org. We'll put it on the bulletin board and enter you in a raffle. One entry per child per day.

April Showers Baby Kit For newborn - 18 months. Included are some songs and a stack-n-rinse water toy which will aid in the development of your baby's fine motor skills and coordination.

Origami Kits Create paper animals from Japanese folding paper!

Sock Bunnies For children in grades K - 2. Create a cute bunny for spring made out of a sock and rice.

"April Showers Bring May Flowers"
For children of all ages. Make a simple craft to illustrate the old saying about April and May. No registration, while supplies last.

Celebrate National Tell a Story Day For children in grades K - 5. Pick up a fill-in-the-blank story and have fun completing it. If you return it to the Children's Department by Tuesday, April 20, we'll hang it up on display! You can also email childrens@sctylib.org for us to email you the story blank.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Craft & Storytime For children in grades Pre-K - 2. Let's welcome spring with the story of the famous caterpillar with the big appetite!

Register in-person, by phone, or online. Pick up your craft kit anytime after you register. The storytime will take place via Zoom on Thursday, April 22 at 4:00 PM.

Each kit includes a number craft, cut-out, and activity sheets. Recommended for children age 5 and younger. Pick up in the Children's Dept. or call 631-286-0818 ext. 2 to arrange curbside pick-up.
