The Children's Department is open for browsing. There are no toys or games. Two internet/typing computers are available for kids to use.
The Grab-and-Go service model is in effect.

April Fool's Contest
Ends on Friday, April 30!
Kids, tell a joke to a Children's Librarian, or write it down, or email it to childrens@sctylib.org. We'll put it on the bulletin board and enter you in a raffle. One entry per child per day.
 
 
April Showers Baby Kit
Available for registration & pick-up
For newborn - 18 months.
This bathtime kit includes songs and a stack-and-rinse water toy for your baby's fine motor skill development.
(It's lots of fun, too!)
 
Celebrate National Tell a Story Day
For children in grades K - 5.
It's time to return your child's completed fill-in-the-blank story sheets so we can display them in the Children's Department!

Storytime: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Thursday, April 22, 4:00 PM
For children in grades Pre-K - 2.
Let's welcome spring with the story of the famous caterpillar with the big appetite! The storytime will take place via Zoom on Thursday, April 22 at 4:00 PM. Please email childrens@sctylib.org for the Zoom link.

For children in grades K - 5.
Let's celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a fun craft!

Mother's Day Bouquet
Available starting Monday, May 3
For children in grades K - 5.
Using the materials provided, create a Mother’s Day bouquet for your mom, grandmother, or caretaker.
No registration, while supplies last.
 

Sunflower Craft
Available starting Tuesday, May 4
For toddlers 2.5 - 5-years-old
Make a sunflower!
No registration, while supplies last.
 
 
Dot Markers Kit
Registration & pick-up begins
Thursday, May 6
For toddlers age 12 - 48 months.
Kit includes a dot marker and activities. Dot markers are easy for little ones to use, and help build hand/eye coordination and hand strength.

Each kit includes a number craft, cut-out, and activity sheets. Recommended for children age 5 and younger.
 
Pick up in the Children's Dept. or call 631-286-0818 ext. 2 to arrange curbside pick-up.

The box will be located outside the front door. If it's raining, it will be in the Children's Department.

Amy Baires is our social work intern from Stony Brook University. She can help with information, referrals, and paperwork for housing, treatment, social services, unemployment, food pantries, and more.
