Who can participate in Summer Reading?
Everyone! Kids and teens each have their own Read & Bead Club. Babies and toddlers not yet in Kindergarten can join 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. Adults can join Pages & Prizes.

How do I get prizes for Summer Reading?
Track the minutes and/or hours you read each day. Every time you visit the Library you can turn in your hours read for prizes. Save up for something big or get lots of little things... the choice is yours! Read and repeat!

- 2 hours of reading = Small squishes, novelty erasers, and more!
- 4 hours of reading = Sunglasses, multi-color pens, and more!
- 8 hours of reading = Fidget key chains, mini games, and more!
- 10 hours of reading = Token for a free item from our Book Sale cart!
What do I need to read for school?
All Pembroke Public School Students may visit the school's Summer Learning page for elementary, middle, and high school required reading and suggested resources, activities, and links to engage children and teens in math and reading throughout the summer.

Pembroke High School Students: Visit PHS's Summer Work page to review reading and assignment requirements for your upcoming grade and/or classes.
Pembroke Community Middle School Students: Rising 7th and 8th grade students are expected to select at least one of the books from the Summer Reading Book List and complete the assigned questions.
Elementary Students: A leveled reading list of suggestions for grades K-8 is available for all students; this resource was created as a collaboration between the local schools, library, and other national educators. Students also have access to LexiaCore5, an online reading skills program; login information for Lexia can be found at the bottom of this PPS page.
