Art Appreciation for Teens: Georgia O'Keefe and American Modernists

Art Appreciation for Teens: Georgia O'Keefe and American Modernists Online

This is a virtual class that will be taught live on Zoom.

American Modernism (similar to Modernism) is a movement that supports the idea that humans have the power to create, improve, and reshape their environment with the aid of scientific knowledge, technology and practical experimentation. Georgia O’Keefe studied the physical makeup of natural and industrial objects and magnified them with a slight tendency towards abstraction. Examples of American Modernist works will be shown during the class and some of O’Keefe’s painting techniques will be demonstrated live by the instructor.

This virtual class is for ages 12-18. Registration is required. You will receive information about attending the online program via email.

This program is funded with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (Legacy).
