Summary: "Cassy Joy Garcia, the best-selling author of COOK ONCE, EAT ALL WEEK, is back with an even easier way to get dinner on the table in a hurry. COOK ONCE DINNER FIX provides 120 delicious and healthy recipes, designed so that you're using the leftovers from one recipe to easily and quickly cook a completely different dinner the next night. Cassy Joy Garcia is a busy mom of two, and she wrote this book because it's the way she really cooks at home. She knows that families struggle night after night to get a homecooked meal on the table that even kids will enjoy, and COOK ONCE DINNER FIX will show you how to do it. Most meal prep cookbooks require you to plan out your entire week ahead of time and spend all Sunday cooking, but that can be exhausting and expensive. Instead, COOK ONCE DINNER FIX shows you how to make Roasted Garlic Turkey Breast one night and then turn it into Spiced Turkey Potato Soup the next. Dry-Rubbed Barbecue Brisket becomes Cheesesteak-Stuffed Peppers for tomorrow's family meal. If you like international flavors, try the Beef Enchilada Casserole, then transformed into Teriyaki Ground Beef Stir-Fry. You'll also find recipes to fit every dietary restriction and preference including gluten-free, grain-free, nut-free, egg-free, and dairy-free, all clearly marked, along with easy options to adapt a recipe to fit the way you eat. Freezer-friendly recipes are highlighted as well, for when you want to cook ahead and save leftovers for another night, and the book is packed with tips and tricks for saving time and money, plus ways to adapt recipes for the Instant Pot so that even beginners can enjoy success in the kitchen. COOK ONCE DINNER FIX solves the "what's for dinner" question without requiring enormous amounts of time, energy, skill, or money. Thanks to COOK ONCE DINNER FIX, dinnertime can now be fun, fast, affordable, flavorful, and something to look forward to again"--

Publishers Weekly Review

Busy parents are treated to a savvy strategy for knockout, plan-ahead recipes from Fed + Fit blogger Garcia (Cook Once Eat All Week). Built upon her "Dinner Series Concept"--which takes components from a meal to create new and "completely different" fare--Garcia's collection serves up ideas for 60 dishes with a second act. "Dinner doesn't have to be difficult to be delicious," she writes, ably demonstrating exactly that with 120 paired recipes that are innovative, flexible, and, most importantly, simple to execute. Preparation is straightforward: chicken thighs from sun-dried tomato bacon chicken pasta are transformed into Jamaican-inspired chicken bowls, while roasted potatoes serve double duty, first on a pesto potato and mushroom pizza, then as the star of a tzatziki-topped potato bowl with cauliflower tabbouleh. Hacks for smart cooking include a thorough how-to on freezing foods (beginning with a flash tutorial on the "science of freezing"), a list of must-have tools, and suggestions for subbing out ingredients. Elsewhere, a helpful chart cross-references recipes by dietary restrictions: dairy-free, egg-free, gluten-free, grain-free, low-carb, and nut-free options abound. And while some recipes are not quick, their utility in multiple dishes ultimately saves planning time down the line. This is sure to satisfy everyone at the table.
