PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES Two computers are available for kids to use in the Children's Department. Some toys and games are also available for play.

Registration begins Wednesday, December 1 Register by phone at 631-286-0818 x1 or in-person. NO online registration. Free, one per family.

After registration, your kit will be available for pick-up starting Wednesday, December 8. Kit must be picked up by Saturday, December 11, or it will go to a family on the waitlist.

Elf on the Shelf Contest through Thursday, December 23 For children up through 5th grade. Twinkle the Elf is in the library!
|
|
Twinkle will hide in the Children's Department and move around each night. If your child finds Twinkle and tells a Children's Librarian, they will be entered into a raffle! One entry per child per day allowed. Winner will be randomly selected.

In-Person Programs for December Registration starts on Wednesday December 1. Register at the library, by phone (631-286-0818 ext. 2), or click the links below. Programs take place downstairs in our community room.

Gingerbread People Story & Craft Ages 2.5 - 5 years with an adult. Hear a story and make a cute paper gingerbread person.

Fireplace Ornament Grades 3 - 5. Create a holiday ornament that looks like a fireplace.

Holiday Storytime & Craft Grades Pre-K - 2 with an adult. Enjoy some holiday stories & make a simple craft.

Winter Snow Globe Grades 3 - 5. Create your own snow globe using various craft items.
|
Ozobot® Club Grades 2 - 5. Control a little robot with a flick of a marker!

Mother Goose For children ages newborn - 2 years with an adult. Sing, say, & play along with nursery rhymes and meet other parents/caregivers.

Toddler Storytime For children ages 18 - 35 months with an adult. Come for stories, dancing, and fun.

Preschool Storytime For children ages 3 - 5 years with an adult. Come hear some fun stories.

Paper Roll Dragon Kit For children in grades K - 3. Make a fiery dragon to fight back the coming winter!

Countdown to Christmas Craft Santa Beard All ages, no registration, while supplies last. Count the days to Christmas by adding to Santa's beard each day.

Tie Dye Snowflakes Kit For children in grades K - 5. Make some colorful snowflakes to brighten up winter!

Ice Cream Craft For children in grades Pre-K - 5. Make a delicious looking sundae craft!

Santa Extravaganza! This in-person program takes place on For all ages, no registration. Meet Santa in a low-key environment. Kids can play or do a craft until they feel comfortable enough to approach Santa. Be sure to bring your phone or camera! We'll have crafts, games, a scavenger hunt, and bags of Magic Reindeer Food.
