Experience virtual reality at the library.  Each month we’ll feature a different educational or cultural VR experience that explores geography, science, art, history, and more.  After trying this month’s featured app, you can explore any of the other available VR experiences including games.   

For each VR Studio session, there are 2 time slots for the Oculus GO, 2 time slots for the Oculus Quest, and 1 time slot for the HTC Vive.

Oculcus GO and Quest – A Virtual Reality Tour Inside the Heart – Take a 3D tour inside the heart, sailing with the blood, through the arteries and vena cava, passing the various valves..   

Oculus Quest and HTC Vive – 3D Organon VR Academy – Celebrate Heart Health Month by exploring the heart cardiovascular system in VR.  Examine the parts of the heart up close and learn how arteries and veins carry blood through the body.

Registration is required for this event.  If the participant is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must register the participant and also be present to supervise their participation.  The manufacturers of HTC Vive and Ocuclus virtual reality equipment do NOT recommend that children under age 13 use their VR headsets.  Each VR system is used once and then is disinfected and stored until the next program.  In alignment with current CDC and state guidelines, all library visitors age 2 and up are required to wear masks.  http://www.washoecountylibrary.us/reopen
