Please join us in welcoming Brendan Slocumb for a moderated discussion of his critically acclaimed debut novel, The Violin Conspiracy, a mystery about a Black classical musician whose family heirloom violin is stolen on the eve of the most prestigious classical music competition in the world.

The Violin Conspiracy garnered a glowing review from The New York Times Book Review and was selected as Good Morning America’s February Book Selection. Mr. Slocumb was also recently featured on PBS Newshour.

Brendan Slocumb writes from his own experience as a Black classical musician who has performed with numerous small chamber ensembles and in the BESK string quartet. For the past twenty-three years, he has been a public and private school music educator, and was honored as a Nobel Educator of Distinction. He also serves as an educational consultant for the Kennedy Center and as the concertmaster for the NOVA-Annandale Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Slocumb currently resides in Washington, DC.

We are delighted to offer signed copies of The Violin Conspiracy to 20 lucky attendees, please register to be considered for the raffle.
