D.G. Menchetti Education Programs present Young Shakespeare: Much Ado About Nothing

A one-hour, interactive, family friendly adaptation of Shakespeare's comedy, Much Ado About Nothing.

Since 2002 Young Shakespeare has entertained over 80,000 children and their families around the region. Join us this summer as we present an hour-long adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing specifically designed for children and adults alike!

After a two-year hiatus we are back!! Join the cast of the Young Shakespeare Program as the cast of local professional actors team up with some of the area's high school students to present an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s hilarious comedy, Much Ado About Nothing.

The war is over. Don Pedro Prince of Aragon, with his followers Benedick and Claudio, visit the home of Leonato, Duke of Messina, father of Hero and uncle of Beatrice.

Claudio falls in love with Hero and their marriage is agreed upon. Because Beatrice and Benedick despise love and engage in a comic battle of wits, the others plot to make them fall in love with each other.

Meanwhile Don John, the prince's sinister half-brother, plots against Claudio with the assistance of his follower Borachio. Claudio is tricked into believing that he has witnessed Hero embracing another man the night before the wedding. Angry at the supposed betrayal, Claudio denounces Hero during the marriage ceremony. She faints and on the advice of the Friar, who is convinced of her innocence, Leonato announces that she is dead. Beatrice demands that Benedick should kill Claudio.

How will all this come to a happy conclusion? Join us for the 2022 Young Shakespeare production to find out!
