Learn and Make in the Quad: Sublimation Printing
A sublimation printer uses polymer-based dyes and paper to create images, such as a favorite photo. Using a heat press, these images are transferred onto a variety of objects, including ceramic tile, wood, metal, plastic, and fabric. These objects must be made of polyester, or treated with a polyester coating for sublimation to work. Due to heat and pressure, the dyes are absorbed into the polyester surface of the specially treated item to create a permanent image.
Bring your favorite photo, or a design you created and saved as a .jpg or .png, on a flash drive or smartphone and make a photo coaster, mug or bookmark. Limit 1 item per person/per week.
Children under 13 must be with their adult guardian with them at all times, and their behavior cannot disrupt other makers, or keep library staff from their duties.
Quad sessions are limited to one per person per month. Duplicate registrations will be canceled.
Registration required. No group/family registration available. Each attendee must be registered separately.
