September In-Person Programs Registration for the Children's In-Person September programs opens at 9:30 AM on Thursday, September 1. September contests and craft kits! |

Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! During the whole month of September The pigeon is driving a school bus in the Children's Department. Kids can find him, tell a librarian, and be entered into a raffle. One entry per child per day. The winner will be randomly selected. |

National Read a Book Day Tuesday, September 6, all day Kids who get caught reading in the Children's Department will receive a sticker and get entered into a raffle! The winner will be randomly selected. |

Newborn - Pre-K Register in person at the Children's Desk. Read books to your child at your own pace and earn prizes. |

Take-Home Craft & Activity Kits Kits are available for pick-up as soon as registration begins, while supplies last. Register in-person, by phone (631-286-0818 x2), or online. |

Flying Spaceship For children in grades K - 2. A paper craft that will blast off with a colorful spaceship and yarn. |
|
Alphabet Kit For children ages 1 - 5 years. We want to help your child with early literacy. This kit includes coloring sheets, an alphabet border, and a simple alphabet book to help your child practice the alphabet with you. |

More Free Craft Kits Wednesdays & Saturdays in July & August. In September, we return to Saturdays only. All ages, no registration, while supplies last. |

Kids Birthdays We love to make kids feel special for their birthday! |

During your child's birthday month, let us know at the Children's Desk so we can put their name on a paper candle on the bulletin board birthday cupcake, and give them a birthday sticker. |

Bright by Text Families and other caregivers can receive free text messages with practical tips and activities for children from before birth to age eight. Available in English or Spanish. |
