The Return of Brighter Days At long last, we can re-introduce Summer Reading programs and activities back into our library. Summer 2022 promises to be a bright one filled with opportunities to gather and celebrate better days. At Belmont Library, we are planning a summer full of reading and entertainment for our patrons young and young at heart. In June during "Seniors Month", please visit our "These Hands" display in honour of our beloved older Elgin County residents. As well this month, registration for TD Summer Reading Club will begin June 28th and the program will run July 5th to August 9th. For our teen readers, we are working to create "Loot Boxes" that are filled with great reads, crafts and treats that will be available this summer at all our branches. Information about our upcoming programs and events will be found in this newsletter and on our library website at www.elgincounty.ca/library in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing our families and community members back in Belmont Library. It's been a long 2 years for everyone and we feel so fortunate to be able to welcome our community back to full service programming. Best wishes ~Leah, Rebecca, Colleen and Danielle

Mat maker, mat maker, make me a mat... Join us this summer at the branch as we partner with Springfield Public School students in their milk bag weaving project. A weaving frame will be set up throughout the summer months for interested volunteer who would like to learn the art of weaving. Mats are made in all sizes and sent to over 40 countries in partnership with many charitable organizations. You can drop off your rinsed and flattened milk bags at the branch for project use anytime during open hours. Donations are appreciated and welcome.
