Program Description

Description

Wake your garden up in the spring and the butterflies will thank you!

Do you love seeing butterflies in your garden? Then, skip the traditional fall clean up and wake your garden up in the spring. Leaves and stems provide essential overwintering habitat and protection for butterflies and other beneficial insects, and leaves provide perfect mulch and suppress the weeds. Learn how you can provide high quality overwintering habitat for pollinators and food for birds in your own garden. In the spring you will reap the rewards by seeing more butterflies and pollinators in your garden. Our presenters will be Amanda Ingrassia and Ted Luchsinger, co-directors of the Fairfield Pollinator Pathway and members of the Fairfield Forestry Committee.
