Community Service Opportunities
 
Local Government 101
Thursday, October 27, 6:00 - 7:00 PM
 
Earn 1 hour of community service.
 
How does the Suffolk County government work? How does it differ from our federal and state governments? With Election Day coming up, this program will analyze the results of the last election and see how and why our community voted the way that they did. We will discuss how a bill becomes a law, how you can get involved, and speak out on local issues. This program will be educational and nonpartisan.

Stranger Things Day

On November 6, 1983, the world turned Upside Down. Forever. Join us for a day of activities as we celebrate our favorite supernatural series. This event will include crafts, games, snacks, and a viewing of the first episode. Click here to register.

Advanced Battle of the Books!
 
Do you like to read and to play trivia?
Join us as we prepare to compete against the other Suffolk County Libraries in the Advanced Battle of the Books. 
 
We focus on 2 books: Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim and The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. When you register you will receive a set of books to keep and start to read now.
