Let us pick out your next read! Based on your likes and dislikes, we'll choose a library book for you to check out, and fill a box with themed goodies. Return the library book -- keep the rest. December's theme is Winter Fun.

December Raffle: Holiday Music Play our monthly raffle for a chance to win candy! For December -- match the music artist with their famous holiday song. Play in-person in the Teen Department or virtually here.

Learn to Crochet Thursdays, December 1, 8, & 15 5:30 - 6:30 PM Learn to crochet and make a scarf to keep you warm and cozy all winter long!

Book synopsis: Shoshanna loves working at Once Upon, her favorite local bookstore. Then Jake joins the staff. He might be cute and single, but he doesn't read, and he's the enemy: his sales numbers start to rival Shoshanna's, and put her holiday bonus in jeopardy.

Attention teens in grades 9 - 12: There is still space to sign up for Advanced Battle of the Books! Do you like to read and to play trivia? Join us as we prepare to compete against the other Suffolk County Libraries in the Advanced Battle of the Books. We focus on 2 books: Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim and The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. When you register you will receive a set of books to keep and start to read now.

Practice sessions are 7:00 - 8:00 PM on the following Thursdays: Dec. 15 & 29, Jan. 12 & 26, Feb. 2 & 9. The competition will be on Saturday, February 11, from 5:30 - 9:00 PM, at Sachem Public Library.

Do you or a friend need help finding resources to regain stability in life? Angie and Kate are our social work interns from Stony Brook University. They can help with information, referrals, and paperwork for housing, treatment, social services, unemployment, food pantries, and more.
