PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES Four computers are available for kids to use in the Children's Department. Toys and games are also available for play.

Elf on the Shelf Contest now through December 23 For children through grade 5. Twinkle the Elf has returned to the library!
|
|
Twinkle is hiding in the Children's Department and moves around each night. If your child finds Twinkle and tells a Children's Librarian, they will be entered into a raffle! One entry per child per day allowed. Winner will be randomly selected.

Popsicle Stick Christmas Tree For children in grades K - 5. Create a Christmas tree out of popsicle sticks and your imagination! This kit contains sequins and small fake gems, which can be a choking hazard for young children.

Kwanzaa Craft Kit For children in grades Pre-K - 5. Make a decoration for Kwanzaa.
|
|
Happy New Year Craft For children in grades Pre-K - 3. Ring in the New Year with this fun craft!

|
|
More Free Craft Kits available every Saturday (except 12/24) All ages, no registration, while supplies last.

Winter Reading Challenge Sign up at the Children's Desk, get a special game board, complete some reading challenges, and earn a prize! Register between January 3 and 15.

Penguin Scavenger Hunt Find the penguins hidden around the Children's Department and get a sticker!

It's a fun and educational calendar-website, run by the New York State Library, for young children and their families. You can find daily songs, activities, and videos to share with your young child.

Kids Birthdays We love to make kids feel special for their birthday!

During your child's birthday month, let us know at the Children's Desk so we can put their name on a paper candle on the bulletin board birthday cupcake, and give them a birthday sticker.

Newborn - Pre-K Register in person at the Children's Desk. Read books to your child at your own pace and earn prizes.

Live Tutoring, Writing Lab, SkillSurfer, Language Lab, Chess Tutoring and more.

Bright by Text Families and other caregivers can receive free text messages with practical tips and activities for children from before birth to age eight. Available in English or Spanish.
