Parent Section in the Children's Department
 
The Parent section within the Children's Dept. contains
books to help caregivers with topics such as development, discipline, education, potty training and more.
 
It also contains child-appropriate books that caregivers can read to a child to discuss topics such as death, anxiety, and much more. Books are arranged for easy browsing.
 
Helpful flyers and pamphlets are also available.
 

 
Your Child's Developmental Milestones
Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time,
and waving "bye-bye" are called developmental milestones. --CDC
The CDC has created a milestone checklist for children age 2 months through 5 years.

Kids Birthdays
We love to make kids feel
special for their birthday!
During your child's birthday month, let us know at the Children's Desk so we can put their name on a paper candle on the bulletin board birthday cupcake, and give them a birthday sticker.

Do you, or does a friend, need help finding resources to regain stability in life?
 
Angie and Kate are our social work interns from Stony Brook University. They can help with information, referrals, and paperwork for housing, treatment, social services, unemployment, food pantries, and more.
