Crayon Scavenger Hunt March 1 through March 31 We're celebrating colors during March! Our scavenger hunt features the characters from the crayon books by Drew Daywalt, illustrated by Oliver Jeffers.

Each week one crayon will hide in the Children's Department, but during the last week of March, all 4 crayons will hide. Find the crayon(s) and enter the raffle. Winner will receive a Crayola Ultimate Crayon Collection! Keep an eye out for our Color Concept Kit & other colorful crafts throughout March!

Animal Adaptations with Ranger Eric from CEED Friday, March 31, 6:30-7:30 PM For children in grades 1 - 5 with an adult. Meet a variety of animal ambassadors from around the world, and discover some of their amazing adaptations that help them survive in their native environment.

Kids Birthdays We love to make kids feel special for their birthday!

During your child's birthday month, let us know at the Children's Desk so we can put their name on a paper candle on the bulletin board birthday cupcake, and give them a birthday sticker.

Your Child's Developmental Milestones Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving "bye-bye" are called developmental milestones. --CDC

The CDC has created a milestone checklist for children age 2 months through 5 years.

It's a fun and educational calendar-website, run by the New York State Library, for young children and their families. You can find daily songs, activities, and videos to share with your young child.

Passport Services by Appointment We serve first-time applicants, minor applicants, adult applicants whose most recent passport was issued as a minor, and applicants who have lost their passports.

Hours are by appointment only. You may also call us at 631-286-0818 x1. Our service cannot renew a passport. Printed forms are available by the Reference Desk.
