ExPLORE (Experiment, Play, Learn, Observe, Read, Examine) is a series of monthly hands-on science workshops for children in grades 4-6, covering a wide variety of topics.

Meeting at the Wollaston Branch Library on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:00 pm each workshop has a short portion of instruction and then exploration and experimentation. Topics range from forensic science to bubbles and parents/caregivers are welcome to participate as well alongside their children.

Join us on Wednesday, March 15th for Magnet Powered. Magnets are for more than just decorating your fridge. We usually think of magnets as only working on some metals and sticking to each other. Magnets can also push each other apart, and what about what happens when you add electricity? We’ll test out some electromagnets, see what we can build, then try to make a simple maglev track and get our model train to move.
