Hello and welcome to my portfolio!

I am a fine artist based in coastal British Columbia, humbly living and creating on the unceded traditional lands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

My works draw from personal curiosity of the natural world and interest in popular culture.

NATURE + NERDERY

About my process

I have developed a style to play with vibrant watercolours, seemly haphazardly blown, splashed and flicked across the page, but truly with intent, and confined by carefully designed stencils. I often highlight with metallics, or block colours and shades, in acrylics to add texture and contrast to my works. I’ve applied this style with numerous fan art paintings as well as geologic and geographical content.

When focussing on natural subjects I love to revel in fine details; presenting a stylized, minimalist realism. Studying from science textbooks throughout my formal education I have always been fascinated with the intricacies of natural science illustration and it’s use to communicate information about the world around us. This heavily influenced my exploration into precise ink drawings and paintings of flora and fauna. I take my time to build each painting from the blank page, starting with a fine tip ink pen and finishing by layering watercolour washes, bringing the subject to life!
