Meet the Artist: Catherine Hearding

Meet the Artist: Catherine Hearding

Meet artist Catherine Hearding at her reception on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Her exhibit "Waterworks" is on display at the library from May through June and is viewable during library hours.

“In looking at my body of work for the past decade, it becomes apparent that a large majority of my paintings include water as a subject or at least in a supporting role. I have spent many hours seeking to understand patterns and colors of water in all its forms. It is a dynamic subject dependent on light and atmospheric changes. It is a moving target and never the same, so each time it is painted, the artist must rethink the approach. It challenges me to consider movement, patterns, values, color, and edges to capture the ever-changing nature of this element.” -Catherine Hearding
