Hello South Country Community,
 
Families with Children: continue to celebrate Children's Book Week with us all month long, and bring nature inside with our bird bookmarks and paper plate snail craft.
 
Teens: if you need community service credit before the end of the school year, we've got you covered.
 
Adults: go green with these programs -- DIY Natural Cleaners for your house and Composting for your garden. Looking for a job? Mark your calendars for our Job Readiness Workshop and Job Fair June 5 and 6.
 
The library will be closed for Memorial Day on Sunday, May 28, and Monday, May 29.

The Sandlot
The whole family is welcome to watch a classic baseball movie under the stars at the South Country Ambulance Company. Bring something to sit on and some snacks if you like. No registration.
Rain will move the event indoors.
 
 
The library has a collection box through May 20.
 
Items needed: Rice, beans, canned veggies, canned fruit, canned soup, canned stew, paper towels, toilet paper, bar soap, jelly, peanut butter, cereal, canned fish/tuna/Spam, Parmalat milk.

The Library offers free passes to select museums on Long Island & in NYC.
We also provide access to discounted tickets to the Long Island Aquarium,the Bronx Zoo, and Splish Splash water park.

Sign Up to be a Literacy Volunteer
Are you interested in helping an English speaker learn to read and write? The Library is looking for volunteers with instructional experience who would like to open countless doors for someone else by offering the gift of literacy. Interested persons should
complete this application and contact Jack in the Reference Department at 631-286-0818 ext 1.

Renew or Apply for a New Library Card on Our Website
South Country Library patrons may renew their card or apply for a new one online. Images of photo ID & address verification are required. Or visit our Patron Services desk at the front of the library for the same service.

 
Passport Services by Appointment
We serve first-time applicants, minor applicants, adult applicants whose most recent passport was issued as a minor, and applicants who have lost their passports. 
Hours are by appointment only.

Our service cannot renew a passport.
There is a separate process for that by mail.
 
Printed forms are available by the Reference Desk.
 

Services for Veterans and Job-Seekers
Helps veterans and their families navigate the VA bureaucracy, provides academic tutoring, and assists with employment transition.
Provides various tools to help with every step of the job search including résumé assistance, interview preparation, and career planning.
Each service provides live virtual assistance every day
from 2:00 - 11:00 PM. A current library card is required.
