The Norfolk County Registry of Deeds is the principal government office charged with recording land documents related to real property in the twenty-eight communities comprising Norfolk County, Massachusetts. These documents relate to ownership of property, including deeds , mortgages and other instruments. The Registry is tasked with providing secure, accurate and accessible land records for all Norfolk County communities and superior customer service to the residents of Norfolk County.
As part of this effort to provide superior customer service to the residents of Norfolk County, Register of Deeds William P. O'Donnell is proud to offer a FREE Consumer Notification Service, the purpose of which is to alert Norfolk County residents to potential property fraud.
Why is the Consumer Notification Service so important and necessary?
The FBI reports that property and mortgage fraud is one of the fastest growing white collar crimes in America. Unscrupulous individuals may record a fraudulent document in the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds office making it look like they own another person's home or property.

If you are an owner of real property in one of the twenty-eight communities comprising Norfolk County, click on the designated button to sign-up for the Consumer Notification Service, free of charge. Once you complete the initial registration, a password will be emailed to you. After receiving the password, return to this page and click on the Manage My Account button. Login with your email address and password and you will be able to input two names, individuals or businesses, and the corresponding city or town for monitoring. If there is any future land recording activity against one of these names in the specified Norfolk County community, you will be alerted via email. If you believe a fraudulent land record has been recorded against your property, please immediately contact the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds Customer Service Center at 781-461-6101. After speaking with a Registry employee, if you believe in fact a document has been recorded fraudulently against your property, pleae contact a member of law enforcement using the link provided below.
