Youth Summer Reading Program
Read, write, and discover with Captain Owliver and his owlie divers during our summer reading program for kids, a collaboration between Stillwater and Bayport public libraries.
Start on Your Voyage
Beginning June 1, visit either library to sign up for Summer Explorers. You’ll receive a free book to keep and a Voyage Guide (with an ocean tracker gameboard inside) to get you started on your summer reading adventure.
Prefer an online option? Sign up on Beanstack to track reading and activities.
Set a Destination
Set a reading goal, explore activity challenges, and discover great books by reading (or being read to) throughout the summer. Suggested summer explorer activities include:
- Read outside
- Attend a library program
- Write a poem
- Make something from a recipe
- Borrow a Nature Backpack
- Conduct a science experiment
- Write and mail a letter
Become a Gold Star Reader! Bring your completed tracker back to the library or show us your 10 Beanstack badges to be recognized as a gold star reader.

Read & Win (Just for Adults)
Read books and enter into a drawing to win weekly prizes for local businesses. Here’s how:
- Beginning on June 1 through August 10, log any book that you’ve read by submitting a short review or rating of the book at the library.
- You can also participate online at Beanstack. Just click on “Log Reading” at the top left and log any book that you’ve read.
- Each week during summer reading, we’ll randomly draw from submitted entries to date win a gift card to a local business.
The more you participate by reading books and submitting reviews, the more chances you’ll have of winning one of the weekly prize drawings.
