Ants Go Marching Contest All through June, for children

Can you find the sets of ants marching around the Children's Department? Tell a Children's Librarian to be entered into a raffle. One entry per child per day.

Mark your calendars - it's almost time for the Summer Reading Club! This year the children's theme is Buggy for Books.

Summer Solstice Painting Thursday, June 15, 6:30 - 7:00 PM For children in grades 3 - 5. Celebrate the first day of summer with this bright and cheery craft.

Insect Camouflage Activity Thursday, June 29, 6:30 - 7:15 PM For children in grades 3 - 5. Learn how insects blend into their environment, then design your own insects that can camouflage in different places!

Summer Sun Craft For children in grades Pre-K - 3. This kit has the materials to make your own sun for the summer. Trace your hands on the included paper to make the sun beams. Younger children may need help tracing and cutting.

If you think your child might have a meltdown when it's time to go (no judgement, we've been there), ask a Children's Librarian for a Helping Hand-Stamp. This ink stamp on your child's hand can become a part of your leaving routine and a reminder that we'll see them again!

Kids Birthdays We love to make kids feel special for their birthday!

During your child's birthday month, let us know at the Children's Desk so we can put their name on a paper candle on the bulletin board birthday cupcake, and give them a birthday sticker.
