Hello South Country Community,
 
Adults, this Saturday, join us for the the book discussion (4 seats left!) and movie screening (open to all) of The Age of Innocence. Then on September 1, stop by for the Community Acoustic Jam.
 
Families with Children, registration for September in-person programs begins September 1 -- preview the programs here. 
Parents and caregivers -- there's one more class in our Positive Parenting Program to help with mealtime.
 
Tweens (grades 4-7) -- there's a Bingo night just for you!
 
Teens, if you like graphic novels, you'll love our September Book Box! Check out the rest of our September programs here.
 
Our September-October Newsletter will be mailed out tomorrow. You can view it on your screen right here. Registration for most programs begins tomorrow.
 
We will be closed Monday, September 4, for Labor Day.
 
We re-open on Sundays starting September 10; our Sunday hours are 12:00 - 4:00 PM.

Join us for a movie under the stars at the Bandshell! We will be watching Shrek -- the greatest fairy tale never told!
Feel free to bring blankets and chairs,
as well as snacks. 
Suffolk County Public Libraries
Summer Tour
a new county-wide summer program
 
Now through August 31
Visit other Suffolk libraries, get as many stamps as you can, and enter to win prizes!
Stop by to pick up a Suffolk Summer Library Tour booklet from the Children's Department or Reference Desk.
 
Bring the booklet with you to get stamped when you visit any of the listed libraries. You can go to whichever you like, in any order.

Sign Up to be a Literacy Volunteer
Are you interested in helping an English speaker learn to read and write? The Library is looking for volunteers with instructional experience. You can open countless doors for 
someone else by offering the gift of literacy. Interested persons should complete this application and contact Jack in the Reference Department at 631-286-0818 ext 1.

Passport Services by Appointment
We serve first-time applicants, minor applicants, adult applicants whose most recent passport was issued as a minor, and applicants who have lost their passports. 
Hours are by appointment only.

Our service cannot renew a passport.
There is a separate process for that by mail.

Renew or Apply for a New Library Card on Our Website
South Country Library patrons may renew their card or apply for a new one online. Images of photo ID & address verification are required. Or visit our Patron Services desk at the front of the library for the same service.
Services for Veterans and Job-Seekers
Helps veterans and their families navigate the VA bureaucracy, provides academic tutoring, and assists with employment transition.
Provides various tools to help with every step of the job search including résumé assistance, interview preparation, and career planning.
Each service provides live virtual assistance every day
from 2:00 - 11:00 PM. A current library card is required.
