In this class students will be introduced to the printmaking process of linocut. The class will cover techniques in carving linoleum, composition, ink mixing, and printing. At their own pace students will learn how to create a design and carve it in linoleum using tools. Students will learn how to ink and print their linoleum blocks by hand. In a relaxed and welcoming environment, students will create many beautiful prints of their own as well as collaborate with their classmates.This class is suitable for beginners and can be adjusted for all levels of experience. All materials will be provided.This class is taught by artist Brooke Lambert.

About the teacher:

Brooke Lambert is a professional printmaker and painter who exhibits her work in New England, New York and beyond. Since receiving her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2017, Brooke has shown her work in 16 solo shows and over 20 juried shows. Brooke is represented by Akua Inks and Speedball as part of their Professional Artists' Network (https://www.speedballart.com/pro-artist.../brooke-lambert/) She has been awarded grants for five public art projects for Amesbury, Dorchester, and her current city of Lowell, MA. Brooke is currently a member of six galleries: Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition and Long Island City Artists in New York, Loading Dock Gallery, Gallery Z, Arts League of Lowell, and Brush Gallery in Massachusetts. Brooke has ten years of teaching experience with children and adults. She is a Resident Printmaker and Instructor at The Art Center in Dover, NH, and teaches art workshops at several locations in MA.
