Decorate a Gingerbread House at the Library! Saturday, December 16

Registration opens Friday, December 1 at 9:30 AM. Register online (below), by phone (631-286-0818 x1), or in person. Decorate an adorable gingerbread house while listening to holiday music. We supply icing, decorations, and a box to take it home. One per teen; one per family.

Indoor Concert The New York Vendettas & The Holiday Horns Friday, December 1 7:00 - 8:30 PM

Join us in welcoming back The New York Vendettas and The Holiday Horns to ring in the holiday season. The band will play a mix of holiday songs, vintage rock and roll and 60's soul.

Winter Warmth Collection Ends this Friday, December 1 We are collecting NEW scarves, hats, mittens, gloves, slippers, and socks for local families in need.
The collection box is across from the Patron Services Desk. Items will be distributed by the Bellport Hagerman East Patchogue Alliance.

Green Screen Holiday Photos Saturday, December 9, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Get your holiday photos taken at the library. Choose from preselected backgrounds. Each family will receive digital images via email.

Photos will be taken by library staff, not professional photographers. Please do not wear green as it interferes with the screen. No pets, please.

Sign Up to be a Literacy Volunteer Are you interested in helping an English speaker learn to read and write? The Library is looking for volunteers with instructional experience. You can open countless doors for someone else by offering the gift of literacy. Interested persons should complete this application and contact Jack in the Reference Department at 631-286-0818 ext 1.

The Library has a Notary Public Available Mondays through Fridays (subject to change). Fee: $2.00 per notarized signature We are not able to notarize wills, mortgages, or sales of property. All documents must be in English. You must have a valid New York State driver’s license or identification card. You may use a valid United States passport but must also have proof of residence that shows your current address. No post office boxes.

Passport Services by Appointment We serve first-time applicants, minor applicants, adult applicants whose most recent passport was issued as a minor, and applicants who have lost their passports.
|
|
Hours are by appointment only. You may also call us at 631-286-0818 x1. Our service cannot renew a passport. Printed forms are available by the Reference Desk.

South Country Library patrons may renew their card or apply for a new one online. Images of photo ID and address verification are required. Or visit our Patron Services desk at the front of the library for the same service.

Services for Veterans and Job-Seekers
|
|
Helps veterans and their families navigate the VA bureaucracy, provides academic tutoring, and assists with employment transition.
|
Provides various tools to help with every step of the job search including résumé assistance, interview preparation, and career planning.
|
|
Each service provides live virtual assistance every day from 2:00 - 11:00 PM. A current library card is required.
