Native Plant Winter Sowing Monday, January 22, 7:00 - 8:30 PM Winter sowing is the easy way to grow healthy plants from seed. Bring a one gallon plastic jug in a waterproof bag; go home with a mini-greenhouse with native plant seeds. Placed outside and ignored for the winter, they will grow into strong plants next spring. Fostering Access, Rights, and Equity (FARE) for Women Workers in NYS Wednesday, January 24, 7:00 - 8:00 PM (virtual program) Join Stacey Salgado of the NYS Department of Labor for a presentation on employment rights and benefits especially important to women workers in New York State. Learn about current and upcoming Labor Laws in NYS. Know where to turn if faced with a certain issues and how to report Labor Law violations.

The Long Island Witchcraft Trial of Goody Garlick Wednesday, February 7,

More than three decades earlier, Long Island had its very own witchcraft trial -- the trial of Goody Garlick. Dr. Tara Rider, a senior lecturer at Stony Brook University, presents this program on the trial and its context -- the stresses of 17th century life, why women were targets, and why the fear of witches existed. Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiver Support Group Monday, January 22, 1:00 - 2:30 PM in Study Room A in the Reference Area Join our Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiver Support Group, presented by Family & Children's Association and Parker Jewish Institute’s Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands, for caregivers of loved ones with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Meetings provide these caregivers opportunities to meet with others, participate in educational programs, and have questions answered about their loved one's care.

Passport Services by Appointment We serve first-time applicants, minor applicants, adult applicants whose most recent passport was issued as a minor, and applicants who have lost their passports.
