Fostering Access, Rights, and Equity (FARE)
for Women Workers in NYS

Join Stacey Salgado of the NYS Department of Labor for a presentation on employment rights and benefits especially important to women workers in New York State. Learn about current and upcoming Labor Laws in NYS. Know where to turn if faced with a certain issues and how to report Labor Law violations.
Topics include the state of the Gender Wage Gap, Salary History Ban and Pay Equity laws, NYS Paid Family Leave, and new regulations about Pay Transparency and Rights for Nursing Mothers in the Workplace. Includes time for Q&A.

The Long Island
Witchcraft Trial of
Goody Garlick

The Salem witch trials began in 1692. More than three decades earlier, Long Island had its very own witchcraft trial -- the trial of Goody Garlick. Join our Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiver Support Group, presented by Family & Children's Association and Parker Jewish Institute’s Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands, for caregivers of loved ones with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Meetings provide these caregivers opportunities to meet with others, participate in educational programs, and have questions answered about their loved one's care.

We are not able to notarize wills, mortgages, or sales of property.  All documents must be in English. You must have a valid New York State driver’s license or identification card. You may use a valid United States passport but must also have proof of residence that shows your current address. No post office boxes.
 
Services for Veterans and Job-Seekers
Helps veterans and their families navigate the VA bureaucracy, provides academic tutoring, and assists with employment transition.
Provides various tools to help with every step of the job search including résumé assistance, interview preparation, and career planning.
Each service provides live virtual assistance every day
from 2:00 - 11:00 PM. A current library card is required.
