About the event
Come learn about the growing issue of textile waste and the local organization that’s doing their part to lessen the burden. FabMo, a creative reuse non-profit located in Sunnyvale, diverts over 70 tons of fabric, leather, carpet, wallpaper, tile and other discontinued and discarded designer material from a fate in the landfill each year-and puts it in the hands of artists, crafters, educators and anyone else who can give it second life.
This event includes a behind-the-scenes tour of FabMo, a discussion about textile waste, reuse and recycling, and the demonstration of a simple project using Fabmo materials complete with take-home supplies and instructions.
The event will be capped off with an opportunity for attendees to shop from FabMo’s vast array of rescued materials.
