About this event

Technology has changed the face of libraries and continues to change how we work and deliver services to customers.

This workshop focuses on emerging technology trends, including AI, gaming, XR technologies, and digital creation spaces, and how these trends reshape library services. Examples of incorporating emerging trends into libraries will be provided. Attendees will leave knowing what trends to look for, the difference between a technology trend and a fad, and how their library can respond to emerging technology.

David Lee King is the Digital Services Director at Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, where he plans, implements, and experiments with emerging technology trends. He speaks internationally about emerging trends, social media, websites, and libraries, and has been published in many library-related journals. David is a Library Journal Mover and Shaker.

He has written two books: Face2Face: Using Facebook, Twitter, and Other Social Media Tools to Create Great Customer Connections, and Designing the Digital Experience: How to Use Experience Design Tools & Techniques to Build Websites Customers Love. David blogs at http://www.davidleeking.com.
