We had a blast kicking off our 2024 Summer Adventure presented by Children's Hospital Colorado today! It was amazing to see how many people came to register today, and to start registering adults for the first time. Anyone can sign up for this program any time until July 31 when the program ends. Library summer reading programs like this one keep kids and teens engaged over summer break, which helps them remember more of what they learned the prior school year when they return to school in the fall. Adults also benefit from doing the reading and learning activities that Summer Adventure encourages, which supports cognitive and emotional health. Did we mention that there are prizes? Kids and teens get a free book when they register, and ages 19 and up get an entry into the drawing for our grand prizes. There are also prizes for completing the program. Despite being PPLD's director of IT systems and technical support, she didn't originally set out for a career in technology. She wanted to be a criminal defense lawyer. Find out what factors impacted Juanita's life and brought her here as a dedicated member PPLD's staff in the spring issue of District Discovery magazine!
