PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES Four computers are available for kids to use in the Children's Department. Toys and games are also available for play.
|
|
For the month of March: Each week, one crayon will hide in the Children's Department. Find the crayon to be entered into a raffle. For an extra challenge, all four crayons will hide during the last week of March. One randomly selected winner will receive a Crayola® Ultimate Crayon Collection.
|
|
|

Coming in April: Children can hunt down the various items in the Children's Department to be entered into a raffle. Winner will be selected and notified in early May.
|
|
Celebrate "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" Day Wednesday, March 20, all day "Won’t You Be My Neighbor?" Day was started as a way to spread love and kindness in honor of Mr. Rogers' birthday. We're celebrating with a book display, little giveaways, and a craft! No registration, while supplies last.
|
|

Mother's Group (series) Mondays, 10:00 - 10:45 AM April 1, 8, & 15 For mothers of infants.

Adjusting to motherhood is a complex journey with physical and emotional challenges. Talk with other mothers and a bilingual licensed mental health counselor to get support for various mothering topics, and meet other mothers in the area. Please note: This discussion group will be taking place in our small program room. Infants can sit in laps or in infant seats, but there's no room for toddlers or older children to play, and they cannot be left unattended in the Children's Dept.

Drop-in Programs For all children AND an adult. No registration for these two programs -- just drop in! While you supervise your children playing, you can meet other parents/caregivers in the area. |

Playdough Fun! Saturday, March 30, between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Roll and shape some dough for fun!

Dot Marker Fun! Wednesday, April 3, between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Have some fun with colorful dot markers. Dress for mess.

Paper Plate Ladybug For children ages 3 - 5 years. Children can create a ladybug using paper plates, construction paper, and googly eyes.

Toys for Older Kids For 3rd-5th graders to use while they are in the library, toys are available that require more maturity, need more careful handling, or have small pieces. Includes a Spirograph®, Find It®, Rubik's® Cube, KEVA® Brain Builders, and more.

Kids Birthdays We love to make kids feel special for their birthday!

During your child's birthday month, let us know at the Children's Desk so we can put their name on a paper candle on the bulletin board birthday cupcake, and give them a birthday sticker.

Overwhelmed Box a resource in the Children's Department Does your child feel overwhelmed from noise or people in the library?
|
|
The Children's Department has a box with sensory items that may help. It contains 2 child-sized noise-reduction headphones, a small weighted lap pad, and mindfulness tracing boards. |
|
Get ready to leave with a Helping Hand-Stamp Children love to play at the library, but sometimes hate to leave. If you think your child might have a meltdown when it's time to go (no judgement, we've been there), ask a Children's Librarian for a Helping Hand-Stamp. This ink stamp on your child's hand can become a part of your leaving routine and a reminder that we'll see them again!

Passport Services by Appointment We serve first-time applicants, minor applicants, adult applicants whose most recent passport was issued as a minor, and applicants who have lost their passports.
