RECURRING FAVORITES

STORYTIMES


Cuddle Babies Lapsit is at the Penacook Library and Activity Center every Monday morning at 9:30am. This storytime experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers introduces songs, simple stories, rhymes, movement, and play. Recommended for ages 0-18 months.

Preschool Storytime is in the Blanchard Room at the Main Branch on Wednesdays at 9:30am. This event includes stories, fingerplays, and songs, all designed to strengthen children's reading or pre-reading skills. Recommended for ages
0-5.

Storytime Stations is at the Heights Branch every Saturday at 9:30am. Enjoy books, crafts, activities, and felt board manipulatives at your own pace with our self-guided stations. Recommended for ages 0-9. No registration is required; please stop by and join the fun!


MONTHLY PROGRAMS


Friday, March 6th at 4pm

Learn about famous artists and create your own masterpieces inspired by their work at this children's art workshop.

Are you a kid with a big imagination? Do you love comics and graphic novels? Do you love to draw? Come tell us about your favorites and join in on the fun as we make our own graphic novels. Who knows--you may be the next Dav Pilkey!

Thursday, March 26th
at 3:30 pm in the Blanchard Room

Can you complete the challenge? What will you build? Use engineering skills and creativity in this program for elementary-school-age children. Recommended for ages 5-10.

Tuesday, March 24th
at 9:30am and 1:30pm in the Auditorium

Homeschool groups and families with students from kindergarten through 7th grade are invited to join us on the fourth Tuesday of each month for a deep dive into science, tech, and art. Registration is required and will be available two weeks before the event. Due to the popularity of this program, residents of Concord will be given priority, but all are welcome if we have additional room available.

Roll For Initiative

Tuesday, March 3rd at 4pm
in the Blanchard Room

Hone your blades and prepare your spells: it's time for a D&D workshop! Come learn the basics of D&D, create a character, and even workshop campaign ideas. This workshop is geared towards new players, but experienced players are welcome! For tweens in grade 5 - 8.

The pot of gold is at the end of the rainbow bookshelf! Make a sweet little treat that is festive and fun for St. Patrick's Day! This program is for tweens and teens in middle and high school. Registration is required.

Watch the beginning of a grand adventure! Join us for a screening of The Hobbit and munch on second breakfast and elevenses. Costumes encouraged but not required (no weapons, please)! This movie is rated PG-13. (Program for all ages).

Make a plant to brighten your day that even the brownest of thumbs won't bother! Join Kat to make your own little cactus friend by painting rocks and little plant pots, and decorating with googly eyes, a mustache, or other fun adornments. This program is for tweens and teens in middle and high school. Registration is required.

Coming Soon: Concord Reads! 

Every year, the city of Concord pulls together to read and enjoy the same book, and enjoy crafts, shows, and programs on its theme! What will it be this year? Well, we can't tell you just yet, but stay tuned: the announcement will be coming at the beginning of March! This program is sponsored by the Concord Public Library and the Concord Public Library Foundation.

Joyful Learning for All Ages

How would you like to get extra help with school - or even jump-start a brand new topic - for free? With Khan Academy, you have education at your fingertips, all created by education specialists. You can make a free acount and keep track of all the courses you've completed, so you know exactly where to start each time you log in.


The youngest learners should start with Khan Adademy Kids, which takes an approach of "joyful learning," where thousands of books, educational games, and story-based lessons help with foundational skills in reading and math.


Older kids and teens have plenty to look at, too, including subjects from math and reading to Asian art and biodiversity. This resource uses videos and clear explanations to help cater learning to the skill level of the student. 


Classes range from young children to adult, so there really is something for everyone! This is a non-profit organization, which has as their mission, "to provide a free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere." What do you want to learn about today?
