RECURRING FAVORITES

STORYTIMES


Cuddle Babies Lapsit is at the Penacook Library and Activity Center every Monday morning at 9:30am. This storytime experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers introduces songs, simple stories, rhymes, movement, and play. Recommended for ages 0-18 months.

Preschool Storytime is in the Blanchard Room at the Main Branch on Wednesdays at 9:30am. This event includes stories, fingerplays, and songs, all designed to strengthen children's reading or pre-reading skills. Recommended for ages
0-5.

Storytime Stations is at the Heights Branch every Saturday at 9:30am. Enjoy books, crafts, activities, and felt board manipulatives at your own pace with our self-guided stations. Recommended for ages 0-9. No registration is required; please stop by and join the fun!

Learn about famous artists and create your own masterpieces inspired by their work at this children's art workshop.

Can you complete the challenge? What will you build? Use engineering skills and creativity in this program for elementary-school-age children. Recommended for ages 5-10.

Come enjoy an afternoon of self-guided craft and activity stations every Thursday afternoon! Recommended for ages 0-9;

Star Wars Day

Saturday, May 2nd at 2pm
in the CPL Auditorium

Grab your lightsaber and put C3P0 on standby - it's time to celebrate Star Wars! Join us in the auditorium for Wookiee Cookiees, Yoda Soda, Vader-ade, and a showing of the first movie in that epic trilogy series franchise! Costumes are optional but encouraged.

Tuesday, May 5th at 4pm

Calling all Pokémon trainers! Come show off your Pokémon collections, talk about your favorites, and watch some of the classic Pokémon anime. This group is for kids 8 - 13 years old.

Decorate Your Space

Monday, May 18th at 6pm
in the Blanchard Room

With a little glue and paint, you can transform an ordinary picture frame into a beautiful work of art! Join Miss Meg to make faux stained glass artwork. This program is for teens and tweens in grades 6-12.

RESOURCE SPOTLIGHT

Communication is Key

Transparent Language Online is a fun, effective, and engaging learning experience for learners of all levels looking to build their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in another language. You can learn any of over 140 languages, from Afrikaans to Zulu, with their website or app. They also have English lessons for speakers of over 30 other languages. 


KidSpeak is available in Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish; this program, for ages 6+, includes learning games and cartoons to help kids learn the words more relevant to them: school supplies, colors, numbers, and more!


Just sign in with your library card to get started! The website (or app) will keep track of your progress for you.
