Drop-In Open Hours allows guests to use the makerspace equipment for personal projects and or experimentation! Please note that The Cranium has a maximum capacity of 12 during open hours, and on some occasions we do have to turn people away when that capacity is reached. We recommend planning ahead and reserving equipment in advance. Reserve ahead here. Use of an equipment must be completed by the end of your reservation time so as not to run over into the following reservation. Additionally, staff cannot provide detailed, one-on-one instruction during open hours. However, The Cranium webpage does provide detailed tutorials and instructions on the equipment and any additional questions you may have can be directed to quref@ocln.org

We are very excited to announce that our outdoor walking program for Adult English Language Learners will start again on Thursday, April 3 from 10 - 11:30 AM! Walk and Talk is a great way to meet new people, practice your English and learn about Quincy Center. - Meet in front of the library (on Washington Street) at 10 AM.
- The group leaves the library at 10:15 AM so be sure to arrive by then!
- This is a weekly walk, every Thursday starting at the Main Library!

The Classroom, Main Library Our monthly drop-in program for adult English Language Learners returns! Join us and practice your English conversation skills, meet new people and do a simple craft! No art skills needed. The craft is very simple and fun. Drop in anytime between 10 - 11:30 AM! No Registration Required. Art supplies are provided. This program is open to people who are interested in practicing their English or longtime residents interested in connecting with our international community members.

Join us for a concert with Dandelion. Comprised of lifelong Boston musicians Heather Scott and Talia Rose, Dandelion shares a love of musical storytelling to audiences across generations. With a passion for crafting joyful folk-inspired songs, Dandelion brings warmth, smiles –and even a little learning!– to kids and the caretakers who love them. Bring your dancing feet and sing along to songs about gardening, the animals we love, and even intergalactic robots! Join award-winning kindie (kids + indie rock) band Marsha and the Positrons on Sunday April 13 at 3 PM for an afternoon of dancing and singing along to fun, energetic, upbeat songs! Winners of the 2024 Josie Music Award for Children's Creators/Performers, their clever songs about science and how the world works with positive social messages bring smiles to all ages! Marsha is a Quincy native and former library kid who is delighted to be visiting her childhood library once again! Families are invited to join us on Friday, April 18 to play our giant Candyland at the library! Try to collect all of our Candyland stickers and decorate your own Candy Kingdom crown. Come to the Children’s Desk starting at 1:45 PM and get your group ticket and number. The groups will be called in order on a first come, first served basis. The activity will run from 2-4. While you wait for your turn, board games and other activities will be available. Geared towards ages 4+, kids under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Happy Earth Week and Arbor Day! Families with children of all ages are invited to celebrate with us on the Olmsted Lawn on Friday, April 25 from 2 – 4 PM with fun lawn games and our Free Tree Pickup in partnership with Neighborhood Forest! In case of inclement weather we will move in doors. If you registered your child for a free tree, you can pick up your sapling on Friday, April 25th at the Main Library from 2 – 4 PM. Please bring a valid photo ID to claim your tree.
