Quincy 400 Continues at the Library! The City of Quincy proudly marks 400 years of rich history, community, and culture since its settlement in 1625. Known as the birthplace of two U.S. Presidents, John Adams and John Quincy Adams, Quincy has been at the forefront of shaping American democracy and innovation. This milestone is an opportunity to honor our past, celebrate our present, and envision a bright future together. Join us as we continue to celebrate! The Genealogy Club will host monthly "Research Help and Share" meetings on most 2nd Thursdays for participants to work on their research, share their findings and questions, and work with fellow members and an on-hand archivist! The club will also host various workshops and guest speaker programs in our "Genealogy Club Presents!" series.

Drop-In Open Hours allows guests to use the makerspace equipment for personal projects and or experimentation! Please note that The Cranium has a maximum capacity of 12 during open hours, and on some occasions we do have to turn people away when that capacity is reached. We recommend planning ahead and reserving equipment in advance. Reserve ahead here. Use of an equipment must be completed by the end of your reservation time so as not to run over into the following reservation. Additionally, staff cannot provide detailed, one-on-one instruction during open hours. However, The Cranium webpage does provide detailed tutorials and instructions on the equipment and any additional questions you may have can be directed to quref@ocln.org

Informal networking takes place before and after from 9 - 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM - 12 PM. This program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 48 hours of the program. This group is sponsored by approximately 50 Massachusetts public libraries.

ESOL Volunteers Needed! The library's English Talk Time program is seeking volunteer facilitators to lead (or co-lead) our ESOL conversation classes. At this time, we are hoping to welcome people who have experience helping adults improve their English language skills. If you don't have experience, but are excited about the idea of working with our local immigrant community, please reach out. Training will be provided! For Beginner-Level English Speakers Twice a week | 10 Weeks Saturdays 9:30 - 11:30 AM Tuesdays 6:30 - 8:30 PM North Quincy Library The library's in-person English for Citizenship class is designed to help beginner-level English speakers practice the speaking, reading, writing and civics information needed to pass the exam! This class meets 2 days a week: Saturdays 9:30 to 11:30 AM and Tuesdays 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the North Quincy Library starting March 29th. Citizenship Classes (Online) Intermediate-Level English Speakers Wednesdays | Morning OR Evenings Morning 9:30 - 11:30 AM OR Evenings 6:30 - 8:30 PM Starts April, 2025 Online - Zoom Our Online Citizenship Class helps intermediate-level English speakers learn everything they need to know to pass the naturalization exam. This class meets 1 day a week via Zoom on Wednesdays. Choose morning (9:30-11:30 AM) or evening (6:30-8:30 PM) starting in April.
